Sizzling Successful Game Strategies in Business

Sizzling successful play strategies begins with a detailed plan but most people abandon the project throughout the planning process. We tend to over complicate things or we give up too soon.

In our microwave society, most people believe the end goal is the most important. Successfully accomplishing a goal is reached by breaking down the plan into individual steps. Curation of a successful plan is obtained in the journey when we tackle smaller goals.

Rome was not built in a day! In fact, in the bible, it says God delights in the small beginnings (Zechariah 4:10 NLT). Small steps help us to learn each individual piece of the puzzle. Our steps are ordered when we seek God. (Psalm 37:23 NIV). Therefore, a plan is a series of thought-out steps.

A coach maps out a game strategy for sports teams. We do the same in business and in our personal lives. Sports teams use playbooks to break down their master plan into smaller steps called game plays. The plays are practiced over time. We practice budgeting and tax planning to lower taxes.  Accountants use business plans to map out business strategies.

Breakdown Your Primary Goals

Most businesses have 2 major goals which are to earn money and to avoid taxes.

Break down large goals into small steps that address taxes, bookkeeping, cash management, savings, investment, salaries, profit strategies, growth, and more.

Have a plan to reach a specific dollar amount in sales and gain clarity about how to earn the money. Review the pricing of the services or products you offer. Be sure to focus more on the net profit (profit after COGS/COSS, owner’s pay, payroll and operating expenses).

Avoid focusing on the gross revenue (income before spending and taxes). Only looking at income will give you an inaccurate view of what’s working.
