Is Rich Minded The Opposite of The Poverty Mindset?

Social Media Oct Wk 4 5 300x300Rich minded sounds good, right? Is rich minded the opposite of the poverty mindset?  Many self-proclaimed money experts are teaching the power of using your mind to attract the right clients to earn what you allow yourself to earn. Rich minded to the world means if you focus on how to get rich you will get rich. Let riches in...after all you deserve it...right? Rich minded in the Bible is a selfish pursuit of money and is actually advised against. 1 Timothy 6:9. 9 "But they that are minded to be rich fall into a temptation and a snare and many foolish and hurtful lusts, such as drown men in destruction and perdition." This verse is not saying those who are rich can not love and worship God. In 1 Timothy 6:17 we are instructed to speak to those who are rich to focus on God. 17 Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. Many people will interpret the scriptures above to mean Christian's should not be rich. However, it states not to be rich minded. Avoid chasing money or don't put your faith in money. Instead, follow 1 Timothy 17 and put your faith and trust in God. Is rich minded better than or the opposite of the poverty mindset? Interesting from studying the scriptures the Holy Spirit directed me to the relationship between the two mindsets. Poverty also believes money is a god. Their trust is also in money. Proverbs 10:15 The rich man's wealth is his strong city: the destruction of the poor is their poverty. Many people believe poverty is a requirement to follow Christ but the scriptures reference the poor in spirit and not money. We all need Christ and are poor in spirit without Him. Money does not change this fact. As long as we seek God and receive the abundance that he gives it will create a rich spirit and this also manifest into money riches and wealth (the much....heavenly promises, love, health, people, a relationship with Jesus). Are you ready to create a mindset of abundance and overflow in Christ? In my new course, I will help you walk through "Discerning The Spirit of Poverty" which in turn will bust the rich minded spirit. Double duty. Dig in to go deeper and allow God to get to the root of the money matter. Learn more....

Customer Service Versus People Pleasing and Spiritual Aspects

Today, we will discuss the spiritual aspects of customer service and people pleasing.  Are there underlying spirits that drive some of our business connections and client expectations?  Let's talk about how this impacts money and our emotions.

Are Christians that find the good things during bad times delusional? Many say yes. The hard part is that many people who call themselves believers give other Christians a hard time when they do. Why? Why can we or should not allow bad times to crush us? First, if Yahovah is indeed our provider and shelter than the pride of life or cares of this world will not choke our faith (Mark 4:19 KJV). Yahshua gives us instructions not to mourn like others in this world. One hope to see them again because if they are dead in Christ, they will be called to him when he returns. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 KJV. We are told to count trails as joy (James 1:2).

ames 1:2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;

Although this verse says temptations (lures, attractions) when you research the word, it means trails. Remember Yahovah does not tempt us with sin (James 1:13 KJV), but he will give us a way out (1 Corinthians 10:13 KJV). He will test with trails (the fire).

1 Peter 1:7 (KJV)
7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
Also see Zechariah 15:8-9 KJV, Isaiah 48:10 KJ
V

And I know we are to endure the trails and not sin by the scriptures in Numbers. (Numbers 19:9 & 17, 31:23). We are to be separated by our sin by being purified in the waters of separation (to be separated from sin or cleansed which is the baptism of the water and a declaration to turn from our sins).

Yes, we need to find the good in hard times. When we do, we are purified in that we are to leave certain things behind. An example is learning to live without certain "wants" during periods of financial challenges. I learned that we could wait, delayed gratifications, and that money does not define me. I also learned that money doesn't control me.

Through my hardships, I have learned I am no longer slave to my selfish desires, the pride of life. Mammon has no power. Instead, when I come out of this fiery trial, I understand that Yahovah is indeed my provider (Genesis 22:14 KJV) and not money (Matthew 6:24 KJV). I deserve to suffer but Yahshua's sacrifice, YAH's grace, and mercy have set me free! I am an overcomer of the fear of missing out and the desires of the flesh. Desires that lead us to believe we must have a certain income or materials to be considered successful and blessed.

Praise Yahovah!

About God’s Business Podcast: Serving YAH, A Daughters Service

Podcast is at the bottom of the page. You can watch the video lesson on Youtube.  The podcast recording has additional information and expansion on the topic.  Financial examples included.

We live in a world that feminism is trying to drag every woman with them by stronghold arguments of what it looks like to be a woman today. I am also confused that it seems that anyone can be a woman (or appear to be) if they so choose. However, YAH said women are special, and so are his sons. We all play an essential role. I grew up with a very independent attitude, but I thought I knew from the beginning I would have to take care of myself and others. I did not understand that Yahshua came that we could be joined again with our Heavenly Father YAH’VA.

Focused
I noticed as I searched out the scriptures I was lead by the Ruach HaKodesh (the Holy Spirit of YAH) regarding my purpose and calling. I struggle for many years because I did not know if I was doing what YAH called me to do or if I was doing what I wanted today. We live in a world that focuses on following their hearts although we the scriptures tell us our hearts are deceitful. Until we allow YAH to create a pure heart in us, we do what we want to do.

Romans 8:6-10 King James Version (KJV)
6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

Many said that my journey of dying to flesh was selfish because I didn’t worry about finding a job outside of the home. I knew YAH was providing, but I did let their doubt make me doubt. I wasn’t sure either for many years. I also noticed this doubt made me the target of many business coaches; thankfully I couldn’t afford their fees. The questions arose, “is it possible to be what the world calls a stay at home mom possible because I am single? My journey has finally brought me to the point that yes it is possible. I have learned that if YAH says it’s so, it’s so because these things are possible with YAH. He wants his daughters to be in the home or homemakers as well as taking care of and teaching the children first. I also run a business outside of my house. I enjoy what I do, and I had to focus on my calling first. Regardless of what big business influencers say today, remember they are lead by mammon, the world system, YAH has a plan.

I am single because I choose not to remain in a sin-filled and abusive relationship. But, I wanted better, and that did not change my role as a woman. I know it’s hard to believe but’s it’s true. Some women can and work outside the home, but for me, I am not called to work outside the house, and when I did it was complete turmoil!

Titus 2:5 King James Version (KJV)
5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

Focus on your first assignments

  1. I seek the Kingdom of Heaven, the King of Heaven and our maker, YAH’VH and YAHSHUA with all that I am!! I desire to keep Torah.
  2. I take care of home. I am a keeper at home, and that does not change regardless of my marital status. Understanding this I can live without desperation because of Yahovah Yirah, my provider!!
  3. I am a businesswoman. Proverbs 31:16 KJV – She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands, she planteth a vineyard.

The steps above summarize what I do. There are times that I am stressed, but it’s a choice as I cast my cares on YAHSHUA as his word tells me to do!

Customer Service Versus People Pleasing Part 4

Social Media June 2017 Week 4 1 300x300Customer service versus people pleasing. How many people think the two are the same? Customer service is essential, and giving quality customer service should be based on the principle of "love others as you love yourself," this principle is based on a Bible verse Matthew 22:39 KJV.  Perhaps, you may need to love others better than you love yourself if you struggle with low self-esteem or if you struggle with putting yourself first, but that's another topic for another day.

Treat others as you would like to be treated. After 12 years of being self-employed and 15 years as an employee, I think people have confused customer service with people pleasing. Customer service should not infringe on the proper treatment of others. I have had clients who use their money to control others. Clients who use their money to control people and situations expect to come above all else.

Taking money from those clients meant I was expected to take their calls immediately. I was expected to work on my day of worship and rest because that is the pattern of the world.  I did not know the difference, and I would step out of the church to respond to their calls. I have left my family sitting at the table because I thought that it was excellent customer service and it would build trust.

Galatians 1:10 KJV"- Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ."

Customer service is vital to our businesses, but people pleasing will set unreasonable expectations and cause burnout.  Take time to write out the terms of service for you and your clients.  Terms of services is an agreement and not contingent for giving your client demands.

The Fallacy of the Competition Mindset

pexels photo 240223 300x200
Create supportive environments

Owning a business takes a special person. The worry of constantly bringing in clients or maintaining revenue levels can be a scary process. Sadly, I have noticed that sometimes other accountants will not talk to each other because they feel connecting with the same or similar industries is a waste of time. The idea of not connecting to similar industries is the competition mindset and this mindset wants to get to all of the clients first as if there isn't enough to go around. Perhaps, they have had bad experiences with people stealing clients. But just as in relationships no one can steal your client if that is your ideal client.

We will lose focus of who we are and our purpose if we are constantly looking over our shoulders at others in comparison. Business owners often look at what other business owners are doing in the same field. The excuse is to see what the competition is doing so you can keep up. But we can see that trying to out do or keep up with someone before you are ready can be detrimental to your business. Just look at the cell phone companies.

Christian Business Owner's and Pricing- Is Money Evil? Part 2

Most Christian owners fail to set pricing to earn a profit. Many believe money is evil or earning profits are greedy. Is money evil? How can you use the profit to benefit others? Let's talk about it. Getting to the root of the money issue. Y. Michelle Coard Read the blog: http://bit.ly/2sXe6cX

Avoid Extremes 2 300x300

Should Chrisitan business owners charge or is pricing greedy? Most Christians or Christ Followers always look at me like I am greedy when I say “you need to charge or increase prices.” Apparently, to place a price on a product or service is deemed greedy or evil. Unfortunately, most Christians misapply this Bible verse “The love of money is the root of evil.” and “It is more blessed to give than to receive.”- Both scriptures are true but how we apply the scriptures has been in error over the years or deception by our accuser.

Misapplied scriptures have created a major and I do mean major money block or poverty mindset. Christian’s fail to see opportunities for which God is calling them to earn income. Yet they are angry at those who have the money or continue to earn money.

Jesus speaks a very common parable in the Bible about talents (thousand of dollars back in the day) Luke 16. He speaks about the use of money and the responsibility associated with managing the money. He speaks of us receiving that which is more important than money which is the riches from God.

Goes back to man can not serve tw0 Gods, both God, and Mammon (an idol or false God) Luke 16:13 NIV. Most translations translate Mammon as money but that is what the false god (Satan) uses to deceive us.

Money is simply a resource. God does not need money to grow His Kingdom but he supplies it to us for our earthly economy.  We trade goods and services for payment. Sometimes we barter but mostly we trade for money (payment). Money is simply a resource for payment outside of bartering. Money is not good or evil but it depends on the heart, mindset, and spirit of the person with the money.

Next week I will cover scriptures about selling and profit in the Bible.

Guarding Your Gifts When Partnering with Others

Social Media May2017 Week 1 300x300In my last blog post, I spoke about the fallacy in the competition mindset. This week, I will discuss how to invite and share with others without being jilted in your business? How do you guard your gifts? I dealt with this question for many years. How do I share without giving away the farm? And at what point are you living in fear that someone will steal your ideas.

Competition develops out the self-limiting belief that anyone can do what we do. Believing others can do what you do is the world's way of making you believe "different" doesn't exist. You have to break away so you can be different.

1 Peter 4:10 NIV- Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms.

I met people who followed me because they believe I am nice. Most people believe nice to be naive or gullible. I am sharp and because I am nice it only means I don't call you out in front of a crowd. However, the hard part was I did not want to be caught up in the competition mindset so I gave what I could. I promoted others often before I promoted myself. After all, self-promotion is selfish right? Wrong. A trick from the world and another blog post. The world's beliefs, often spoken of in the bible, is out of alignment with the word of God.

The Generous Side of the Spender's Mindset

Social Media Posts May Week 2 300x300An avid saver would say the spending mindset is a problem.  The scriptures say to avoid extremes. Neither extreme is correct. "It is good to grasp the one and not let go of the other. Whoever fears God will avoid all extremes." Ecclesiastes 7:18 NIV.

The spender's mindset should be balanced with the saver's mindset. I will expand more on the pros and cons of the saver's mindset next week. The spender's mindset is influenced by desires as well as worry.

We worry we may not have enough or we feel because we sacrificed we deserve what we desire. I would caution against using the phrase "I deserve." The phrase "I deserve" leads to the belief that we should buy or do what every we want.
